A pair of shears lying on a bench caught my attention and I was struck by the thought that the shearer handling them had put them down, unaware that it was the last time he would use them. The abandoned shears touchingly embody all the everyday routines that we unknowingly do for the final time, from feeding an infant to kissing a loved one goodbye.” – Chris Gosfield
