The shed was constructed by Jane Sharp’s late husband Peter who repurposed drill shafts from his mining exploration business to serve as framing.
“I was particularly fascinated with this shed due to a shared history between it’s builder and myself. As a young man, I worked underground in a mine on the west coast of Tasmania. Jim Sharp, who constructed the shed, ran a diamond drilling company that operated within the West Coast mining industry. This, in conjunction with the history of the working shed itself at Boat Harbour, partially constructed from materials used in diamond drilling, provides the context for the compositions.” – Nick Haywood
